Working with Long Exposure
My project is working with long exposures. In my shots, I try to use manipulate the camera's settings to create trails of light that wouldn't normally be observed in a short exposure photo. The photos so far use vehicles for their speed in creating motion through the picture. I also usually shoot on the same level as the cars. Only in one of the photos do I find a different vantage point to shoot photos.

Experimentation
This week, the class was encouraged to use various filters and editing tools in Adobe Photoshop and PicMonkey. I used may filters in Photoshop and experimented with individual filters as well as combining filters. Each photo is captioned with its filter.
Credits to Joe for being such a good sport when editing pictures of him- You're not doing it wrong.

Photos With Motion
This week I spent a lot of time making motion blurs. There was a lot of pushing forward, back pulling, panning, swinging, and shaking the camera. The ending result was many pictures with certain blurred aspects. This wasn't too hard since I was used to longer exposures (because of the light painting), but a little harder since I had to shoot in the daylight and master the slight delay of the cameras.

Silhouettes
This week, the class was tasked to take pictures of silhouettes. We did this by changing the exposure compensation settings to blacken out the object we are trying to silhouette. Although this was somewhat challenging at first, it did become much easier. By the end of the week, it was much easier to find places where silhouettes could be shot and altered using photoshop.

Light Painting Final Edit
These are the best of the various light painting photos I have taken. Over the course of the series, the "tracing" method turned out to be the most successful. These photos were taken by moving a flashlight or headlamp along the subject with the light on. It created the effect of illuminating the subject in addition to creating trails of light similar to a neon sign. Not only were they easy enough to understand (and less obscure than some of my other photos), these photos were interesting to look at as well as creative. If I had more time, I would try to work other colored lights into the pictures. I wonder if they would be too distracting or compliment the photo quite nicely.
